2 oven Aga range cooker re-enamelled

So lets have a look at one of last weeks jobs! This is a two oven pre-1974 'Deluxe' Aga range cooker in cream. We are pretty sure its a refurbed cooker, lets have a look at the clues! Firstly it has an air wheel 'notch' under the hob (top left of front) that is not necessary - there is no air wheel! Secondly this cooker has post-74 towel rail brackets on it. The rail sits between the brackets not on them. This is wrong!

The finish on the enamel is very poor too - definitely not Blake & Bull or original quality!

Enamel finish on Aga range cooker door

With top hob off and front removed this cooker is now naked! You can see the oil supply snaking in from the left hand side, under the base plate and up into the burner. This cooker has a small '90' gallon a day boiler strapped to the left hand side of the barrel.

Dismantled Aga range cooker

The new front is on! This is proper vitreous enamel to our very high standards. We call this 'Northern Counties Cream' and its very close to the classic colour everyone knows and loves. You can order colour samples here and see what your cooker might look like! The front now has it's air wheel, purely decorative of course, and looks fabulous!

This pic lays bare the scale of the improvement. The 'notch' in the underside of the hob now curves round the pretty air wheel. The eagle eyed among you will have noticed no doors are present in these pics. We in fact picked up the wrong doors when packing the van for this job; two cream cookers being enamelled together led to the confusion! The doors were sent out (very well packaged!) by next day courier and are already seated happily. They just drop into place!
