Did you know that the iconic Aga range cooker exterior and the British classic Routemaster Bus were designed within a decade of each other by Douglas William Scott? Both designs have become synonymous with Britain worldwide.

I can still remember climbing the steps on the back of the bright red buses as a small girl as my mother and I travelled into town, the dusty fumy metallic smell especially! Equally strong is the memory of my first toast cooked on an Aga range cooker, clasped between a metal grid by a family friend, also the first time I tasted real butter!

What are your early memories of these wonderful machines?

Katy Boys

Katy is a rural girl at heart. She loves long walks, home cooking, paddling in rivers, warm fires and socks and stomping in leaves with her children. After studying ‘drawing stuff’ at university in Bath, Katy spent 10 years selling wares and managing folk at Habitat in Bath. Welcoming children into her world prompted her to return to drawing things, people and places from home. This led her to us at Blake & Bull and the rest is history. She draws our stuff, provides cuddles for the office dog, and is here to chat to you lovely lot.
