Of all that we asked you in the Blake & Bull annual survey, this question was the one that I was most looking forward to, and I have really enjoyed all the colour banter from you lovely folk!
Thank you to Georgie who sent in this bright springlike snapshot of her Pistachio beauty!
"My first one was cream then changed to a four oven red one; moved house and treated myself to a five oven dual-control (love it ❤️) in pistachio! The Aga range cooker engineer from Norwich, who did the survey, said it was a very daring choice! Apparently, customers in Norfolk are quite conservative in their choice of colours.” Georgie
Well.. we didn't go quite as far as correlating location with colour choice (maybe next year!). Georgie you are one of 6! So I think that the engineer was right, with only 0.5% of all community members surveyed owning a pistachio model.
Drum roll.....what came top?..
Light, classic and homely Cream came first outstripping 2nd place Dark Blue by nearly 50%. Followed closely by what could be termed as 'the classics'.
We were surprised that grey, which includes pewter tones, didn't rank a little higher. We will be digging deep into our records, but as an overview, grey is the most popular choice for our enamelling services.
I was interested too to see the lack of neutrals amongst the numbers, with 'putty' tones not registering at all, with only 1 entry for 'Linen'.
Very happy to see that there are 4 sunshiny yellow cookers among those surveyed, and blue tones from 'Duck Egg' to the deeper mid blues taking a healthy chunk of the stats.
It will be very interesting to see next year if grey has crept up the leaderboard, and if there is a direct link between grey and re-enamelling/ new purchases. Will we see a shift from 'The Classic 5'.
I have to say that someone did write 'Yucky Brown', and that isn't our term. I am rather a fan of brown and having just bought a 70's house I am considering indulging in a bit of brown deep pile carpet! I bet it is beautiful!
Thank you all who contributed!
