Bring a bit of sunshine to your kitchen - A Yellow Aga Range Cooker!

Note! The badges have been digitally removed or obscured in the pics, they are there in real life but as not our trademark we can't show them!

I have a lovely before and after shot for you today of an Aga range cooker re-enamelled last week by Joel! We don't do too many bright colours like this but I think it really 'pops' and creates a real feature. The modern trend is for calming greys of course but this is such a lovely way to go too!

This is a 4 oven cooker of course and a 'Deluxe' model. We can date it to between 1974, when they were introduced, and 1995, when the towel rail changed. After 1995 the number of towel rail brackets reduced to 3 and the rails joined in the middle. You can see this cooker has worked hard!

To re-enamel these cookers in a single day is very skilled work that needs a good problem solving attitude as no two jobs are ever the same. To make this possible though we reckon more than half of the work is done before we ever see the cooker in real life. Every part required is prepared in advance for the technician on the road, in this case Joel! Matching original parts are enamelled, the lids are built and the doors lined. Its a laborious and demanding task that is completed by Matt and David in the workshop - everything must be right. You can't pop back to base for a different lid hinge if you are already in Scotland!

Of course to even get to this stage Katy has talked through every aspect of the job and planned it in detail - hotels have to be booked for long distance jobs and our vans maintained.  The difference between the pics below is dozens of hours of planning, preparation, planning and fitting. We take great pride in getting every job right first time. We aim for 100% perfect and look closely at what went wrong whenever we don't meet this expectation!
