Peter is {in our humble opinion} one of the most fastidious chaps you'll ever meet! He is our Clean & Upgrade technician, and with the best part of 1/2 a decade of experience in the trade, he works carefully and methodically to deep clean and upgrade Aga range cookers made from 1941.
Here is a 4 oven Standard model that we were invited to clean up after the owners inherited it with a move. For the geeks out there {yes that includes me!}, these models were made from 1941 up until 1972. The word 'standard' does not mean that these models are basic or simple, it was the name given as it was the design that 'standardised' production design of Aga range cookers. We think that they are rather special!

When we realised however how much it was costing us in electricity we had a massive shock. This model has been converted to a simple 13amp system historically {not by us}. The insulation upgrades that we provided alongside the deep clean will help improve heat loss for this model. We re-insulate the lids & doors, and make sure all seals are up to date. Under hob insulation is checked and upgraded on request too. Long term this model would benefit from a more sophisticated electric conversion.
