This solid fuel Standard Aga range cooker was showing signs of age, inside and out. Philip and Matt, our Blake & Bull engineers, uncovered a leaky and corroded boileron taking this hard working solid fuel machine apart.
A solid fuel boiler is a workhorse, cool water is dense so it drops from the hot water cylinder into the boiler where it absorbs heat from the barrel and then rises back to the hot water cylinder in a repetitive cycle. The Boiler has no let up, it does this continuously. It's no wonder that it has expired with exhaustion.
I actually climbed in our scrap metal skip to take this photo for you to see the effects of age and a slow leek on this steel boiler, such dedication to the blogging cause! Relief was palpable on site, as this was removed and replaced for one of our reliable Electrikit systems.
The enamel here is stained and has lost it's glaze in places, most prominently on the hob. I adore the colour choice of this customer, I am a sucker for a job that involves a gutsy splash of colour!
A bold earthy colour (terracotta) combined with my personal favourite age of cooker, and I am won over! As you can see when we re-enamelwe retain all the original detailing and character of your machine. However, when converting to electric we do leave you with a more efficientand versatile machine.
Why converting your Aga range cooker to electric is a good idea -
