We first saw Heather and her cream, 2 oven standard Aga range cooker for conversion and refurbishment service a couple of months ago. Sadly, when our technicians arrived at the property, they found Asbestos on the back panel.
Whilst this is extremely rare, it can happen to older cookers that have been left untouched for some years or aren’t serviced regularly. However, it’s easy to resolve once the Asbestos has been removed by a qualified team.
As soon as the back panel had been removed safely, the Blake & Bull Team returned to complete the conversion and refurbishment. The owner of the cooker had booked in her solid fuel range to be converted to electric a little while ago - considering the unexpected delay, we wanted to ensure this went ahead without a hitch.
The original dome lids were a little damaged and worn, so we sourced a pair of reconditioned lids that had we had in our warehouse. This meant that Heather was able to retain the character of her beloved cooker, whilst still getting a full refurbishment.
