"The chimney was swept last week and the the Aga is now both looking great and working fantastically well. Even heat on plates and in the ovens and I calculate about 15% percent reduction in coal used over the week at least and as a Scotsman that warms my heart as well as the house.
I know there have been a few hiccups in the re-fit due to the age and condition of the stove but throughout I have been thoroughly impressed by the way everyone at Blake and Bull have handled it. Professional, polite and friendly and at all times prompt and diligent with responses to my queries/requests. And most importantly if I was told something was going to happen then it did; no false promises or excuses about things not being done. The way business should be done.
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped with this, from Emma who took my initial enquiry and Dan, Sam, Chris ,Luna, Mathew, Julian, anyone I've missed and of course yourself who has co-ordinated the whole process."

Before...
A faithful solid fuel pre '74 2 oven Aga range cooker. Psst! There is a badge in real life, digitally removed here as it is a trademark.
Our first visit uncovered the following - The inner ash pit door bar was fused to the ash pit lug. The aluminium air mixer pipe was corroded by around 3" presenting a carbon monoxide leak risk, a number of gaskets were weak, the side panels were scaling and weak with rust corrosion, at some time a remedial repair had been made by forcing a 'fibre' panel between the boiler and the side panel, and the rear simmer to flue manifold was corroded and broken.
We called on an old friend Julian to ensure that we could keep this old 'gal running, and sent the Blake & Bull team back to fit the enamel to the much safer cooker!
The simmer manifold joins the smoke box {base of flue} to the simmer plate {top of right oven} and is the pathway for the cooking vapours and combustion vapours, which then travel up the flue. This was cracked and falling away / corroded. We simply could not leave it this way!
Roll on a couple of weeks and a revisit {along with a significant amount of BBQ food for Mr C and family!} and this was the result!
Claret was the colour choice, and we were very happy to supply matching side panels. We supplied a replacement inner ash pit door, manifolds, pin and ash pit manifold/surround. Along with a restored smoke box and simmer manifold.
We dedicate a full day to each client, we would certainly make more money doing more than one job in a day, but this work takes time. On this occasion a secondary visit was needed, and we were happy and able to draw from our significant salvage stocks meaning that there were no parts cost for the customer.
Blake & Bull is family owned. We think and plan in generations, not financial quarters, find out more. Our warranty is for 3 years, parts & labour, 2 years parts. Choose a care plan for peace of mind forever. We've built an extraordinary reputation. We mean to keep it.
