Dry washing without spending a penny extra on fuel; how much can this save you?

Our two tier drying racks for use with Aga range cookers (choose second tier from options) will dry a full load (~5kg) of washing overnight if it is folded and laid out neatly - you shouldn't even need to iron it! Towels and sheets will similarly dry overnight if popped onto our towel rail extensions (safely away from the air intakes and badge). Smaller items fit perfectly on our ladder dryer. Between the racks, rail and ladder you can dry a full load or more from even the largest of washing machines overnight. If you are really organised and can get another load drying during the day you can dry two large loads of washing every 24 hours without spending a penny extra on fuel for your cooker.

Thats fab, but the big question is how much money does this save you?

Running a cycle on a tumble dryer costs around £1.45 in October 2023. This assumes a new efficient dryer like this one. If you have a an older dryer this could be a lot more. 

The average family tumble dries 5 loads of washing a week. Thats £7.25 a week or £377 a year. Our drying racks can pay for themselves very quickly! 

If you dry your washing on a radiator you'll still save money by using our racks! Drying washing this way may feel like its not costing anything extra but in reality your boiler is working extra hard to keep those radiators hot as the moisture in the washing evaporates and takes heat from the radiator with it. 

The only way to dry washing for the same as it will cost you on your cooker is to hang it outside. I prefer my washing warm and super dry - the only way to replicate that outside is on a hot summers day and even then the washing seems somehow crisper. Fabric dried in the constant warm air over range cookers is softer!
