Electrickit Advanced - choosing the system and what you must do as part of your pre-installation checklist
To be able to enjoy the full programmability and flexibility of the Advanced system you must have strong reliable WIFI in the part of the home where the Aga will be installed/is built.
The Advanced Electrickit system can run with the Smart Life App, which is a third party App. It does not have to! You can operate with just the screen that you have chosen {internal or external}. To control via a phone or similar the App must be on one device, not across many devices. The external screen does not offer WIFI control and isnot designed to be handheld.*
The person who is most likely to use the Aga needs to be comfortable with using an app and the wall mounted screen if chosen. Or, look at ways to boost your wifi in that area. We highly recommend that this is done before our visit as we would need to charge for a set up revisit if this is not prepared for the day.
Setting you up with your timer and phone software, ensuring that you know how to use it is not part of your installation day. Setting you up with the wall mounted screen and controls is.
Your dedicated engineer will make time to do this at the end of the day as they show you how to use your cooker as it gently warms through.
To enable them to do this successfully in one day we need you to do the following -
- Check the WIFI strength in the part of the home where the Aga range cooker will be.
- Deploy a Wifi booster/Wifi Extender to support the signal if weak or if you think that usage in the property will increase, a future proof setup if you like!
- If you want to control via a phone {ovens only} make sure that the 'Smart Life' third part app is uploaded onto the device that you as a household have selected as the device that will control the Aga. Choose a device that is most frequently in the home, as an example; do not choose the phone of a person in the home who works away 5 days a week.
- Create a guest log in for the ‘Smart Life” App on your phone, so that Blake & Bull may {if requested} offer initial and one off set up advice immediately after installation remotely {subject to our availability}.
- Pay extra attention to having your electrics correct and in place. {If your electrics are not correct or in place we will not be able to set up your cooker and a revisit fee will be charged of £675 + VAT with a revisit timeline of 4-6 weeks.}
- The main user / device controller must be available for the handover at the end of our working day

*Note- when choosing the externally mounted screen, {great for accessibility and ease of use when positioned well} make sure that you have a place {following our installation guide} where it can be wall mounted where no electrics or pipes are situated within the wall and that this is clearly marked for your visiting engineer.
The external screen is not designed to sit on a working surface or be handheld, as it will be vulnerable to damage. If you have the external screen, you will not have the internal screen. Should the external screen be damaged/misused you will not be able to control the Aga.
